This week we are going to step it up a little bit. The weekly challenges are working great at getting me going in the right direction towards being caught up. I wanna really get a lot done this week so here's the challenge:
Create a mini-album with a paper pack or two that coordinate. Use ribbons, buttons, etc. and go to town. When creating mini-albums I like to keep the theme consistant throughout the album and I always carry one element over onto each layout. The constant element can be anything from a specific ribbon, using the same color cardstock to mat photos, or even using a stamp such as a circle or doodle on each layout. In my opinion this helps to tie the layouts together and helps to keep you from having to come up with 10 original things to do for the album.
These albums usually take me about 2 hours to complete. They can be lots of fun and simple too. Close to My Heart had a 6x6 and 9x9 Reflections program several years ago that was great for helping with these layouts. I haven't seen it in our Idea Books in a long time but I use the 6x6 one often. I like that I can use just a few sheets of paper to create an entire album and then I add my embellishments and stamped images. I really hope that Jeanette Lynton will decide to redo these programs as she has Originals and Reflections. If you don't have the old set, you can use the 6x6 card designs that are in Originals and Wishes. Of course, you are welcome to use your own ideas as well. Have fun!!!
